Clarus uses Zero Emissions Vacuum Compressors (ZEVAC) to capture and recycle gas during pipeline maintenance, reducing emissions by up to 35 tonnes annually. Deployed across distribution and transmission pipelines, ZEVAC supports Clarus’ sustainability goals, including a 2030 emissions reduction plan, contributing to New Zealand’s low-carbon energy future.

FortisBC uses Zero Emission Vacuum and Compressor (ZEVAC) machines to capture and reinject gas during maintenance, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and conserving resources. In 2021, ZEVAC saved 198,000 SCM of natural gas, preventing 2,900 tonnes of CO₂ emissions—equivalent to removing 888 cars from the road—exceeding CleanBC’s emissions reduction targets.
